the development process

Consultation
We begin by discussing your needs and assessing the goals and expectations for your web site. I’ll begin by asking questions and gathering information that will help me understand your overall requirements. After our initial discussion, I'll write a bid agreement that outlines what I will deliver, a timeline and the exact cost of your web site.

Payment Process
I require 50% of the total cost to be paid before the work begins. Upon approved completion of the web site, the remainder of the balance will be due. The payment process and options for payment will be outlined in the bid agreement.

Design Phase
After the agreement is accepted, production begins. I will start by collecting elements to develop a Photoshop mock-up of your home page and a secondary content page. I’ll need electronic copies of your company logo and any photos you may want to include in the design of the home page.

If you don’t already have the copy (text) for your web site pages, it should be noted that this is the time that you will need to compose the “final” written matter intended for each section of your web site. Your copy content and images are critical in meeting the agreed timeline.

Code Phase
Once the Photoshop mock-ups have been finalized, I will begin by converting the final mock-ups and site structure to web browser code. This phase also involves testing your web site for cross-platform and browser compatibility.

After testing, I will provide a link to the working model of the web site for your review. I will ask you to report any issues or concerns, in regards to navigation and overall user experience. It is also at this time that I will need the prepared copy (text) and images for your web site.

Final Phase
After all of the web pages have been populated with the copy and images content, I will ask for a thorough inspection of all pages and your approval. Any edits or modifications will be completed at this point.

Following the approved final inspection, you will receive an invoice for the balance due. The remainder of the balance due must be paid in full before the web site can go live.

Delivery
After the final payment has been received, I will upload the completed web site to your domain and the web site will be live for all the world to see.
